Absence letter - writing to inform you of expected (extended) illness

Absence note to the school (from parent or guardian) to inform the school of expected (extended) absence from class due to illness. We recommended you do this as soon as you become aware of it, as the school has a "duty of care" which may involve them in unnecessary effort on their part, if they are not kept informed of progress.

Absence letter - school (illness) more extended period) slight impact

Absence note to the school (from parent or guardian) advising them of your involvement in the absence of your child for a more extended period due to illness. The illness is not expected to impact on attendence in the future but has a slight impact on ability to participate in activities, which should be outlined here.

Absence letter - school (illness) (more extended period) no impact

Absence note to the school (from parent or guardian) making the school aware of your involvement in the absence of your child for a more extended period due to illness. The illness is not expected to have any impact on long term attendence or performance.

Note: the school should be advised of an expected extended absence as soon as you become aware of it, like when your doctor advises he/she should not attend for an extended period. Nevertheless, this letter would still be an appropriate follow up.
