The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is issued to suppliers already on the list, asking them for a quote for particular product(s).

Often when an RFQ is needed it is sent to the short-listed supplier automatically with a letter.

The advertisement for Register of Interest (ROI) from vendors who will be short-listed for a more long-term relationship.
