An informal white paper related to the NSW government's plan to introduce a desalination plant at Kurnell. It investigates other ways of adding 500M/l per day to the potable water supply and comes up with a great idea - it seems at first glance like a crazy first pass but when you think about it the plan (called a "floating flexi-weir" (FFW) at sea level) proves that this amount of water is in reality only a small amount that can be achieved quite easily. All you have to do is start thinking outside the square.
In response to Queensland flash floods 2011. Concept document. Key elements of a flash flood diversion plan (FFDP). A very rudimentary drawing but addresses key elements of the plan. Damage of flash flooding is related directly to the course of and huge speed of a temporary water flow. Therefore a FFDP does not seek to stop flooding but to ameliorate risk by changing the watercourse. Here we look at a small hamlet on the banks of a creek subject to flash flooding.
This code of conduct describes the activities and standards expected from an employee of a public sector or semi-government organisation or NGO, TAFE or University, at the state level. It is a private declaration signed by a new employee at the moment of recruitment and is to be read in association with their contract of employment. This code of conduct is for an employee of an organisation bound principally by NSW state law. Because public sector and semi-government employees operate in a clear legal framework, it derives its codes from such law as
Bi-lateral agreement on a particular subject. This Memorandum of Understanding is designed for a minister of a country and a minister of another country who have had a "meeting of the minds" and have decided to formally record this with a legal agreement. It explains future planned co-operative activities in the interests of both countries and identifies from each country participating agencies, a key agency for control over activities, and other participating institutions. It explains how activities are funded and how conflicts will be resolved.
The local environment plan (LEP) is not subject to strict rules and planners have adopted a number of different models over the years. This model (in the form of a single page diagram in PDF) has proven very useful to a number of projects in helping to generate the chapters required for a successful LEP.
