One-Tier Topology - Star configuration

A diagram showing about as complex as you can get employing a single-tier topology based on 1 hub (also known as a simple star configuration), IBM compatible at the node. The hub is represented analytically, not pictorially, much more useful. Everyone can understand the diagram easier and it can even be used by the techos to set up the network. The hub profile (list of points) shows detail of 8 nodes. A useful little 4 user network with a dedicated server and shared resources.

List of Milestones

The cognitive milestone is important to tenders because it describes a moment in the project when a concept that is important to the requirements of the client can be demonstrated to be complete. A list of cognitive milestones describes the key moments in the project for the client, the dates they will occur, when the client will be asked to "sign off" so that we can get on with the job because we know the client is happy up to this point.

Project Risks - Project Plans

A list of risk factors that relate to a project at the time of project management and change control, assuming that it is not necessary to re-consider the broad risk factors taken into account at the time of approving the business plan. (Of course this assumption will need to be reviewed from time to time throughout the project but on a day to day basis it is a valid assumption.)

Network design example - Two Tier

A little diagram to get you started on the network design. A small network for a small business, depicting two tier (three hubs), five departments, multiple compatibility (because the design/engineering dept uses MACs but the Accounts/Sales uses IBMs), 13 users with all the required shared resources in 3 locations (rooms or floors). A very useful little picture! This is a Word document, so is not editable. A Visio template is also available.

Project Resource Assignment Schedule

This basic resource assignment schedule is designed for early planning of resource assignment on a new project and includes a thirteen week planning schedule. A basic GANTT-style format. It is usually used for quick assignment of resources on a time line using a pen, prior to more formal critical path analysis. An example of the generation of Phase Numbers, Task Numbers, Resource Types, and Resource Numbers is included.

LEP - Model for chapter headings

The local environment plan (LEP) is not subject to strict rules and planners have adopted a number of different models over the years. This model (in the form of a single page diagram in Visio) has proven very useful to a number of projects in helping to generate the chapters required for a successful LEP.
